Wee Hur to divest PBSA portfolio for A$1.6 bil
According to the group, the final profits of about $320 million is projected to go in the direction of Wee Hur’s calculated development, sustain its reinvestment in core business, and expansion into new locations such as different investments.
Wee Hur Holdings has already entered into a binding agreement to offer its portfolio of 7 purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) assets to Greystar, according to a Dec 16 launch.
Goh Wee Ping, CEO of Wee Hur Capital, claims: “In 2021/2022, amidst worldwide unpredictability, we acted decisively to safeguard liquidity and assurance with our successful wrap-up with RECO. 2 years eventually, as the PBSA market recoiled and our profile came close to full stabilisation, we capitalised on yet an additional opportunity to unlock optimum worth for our stakeholders via this landmark transaction.”
The group’s PBSA profile, which spans over 5,500 bedrooms over numerous Australian towns, has an acquisition consideration of A$ 1.6 billion ($ 1.4 billion).
Following the deal, Wee Hur is readied to hold a 13% involvement through its subsidiary, Wee Hur (Australia).
The proceeding is readied to be finished throughout the upcoming six months, subject to Greystar getting Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) permissions and Wee Hur getting authorization from its investors.
The group claims the transactions reflects Wee Hur’s “durability in browsing intricate market problems”, involving the obstacles posed by Covid-19 and greenfield growths.
The deal even supports Wee Hur’s long-term strategy and recurring efforts to expand its profile and position the group for sustainable development throughout multiple sectors, includes Wee Hur.
