Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar
Habyt has introduced a brand-new accomodation area at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the front runner place for the operator’s Habyt Flex approach, which represents a strategic expanding of the company’s product offerings past long-term co-living.
A public tender to rent the property, now handled by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was launched in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based on the bid price and the quality of the proposed concept, and SLA enticed bidders to consider inspired lifestyle ideas.
The flexible space lies within a maintained 1920s colonial building. The three-storey building, created by the architectural firm Swan & Maclaren, was one of the earliest modernist structures in Singapore. It was built to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.
Wong says Habyt Kada at Maxwell presents the company’s commitment to redefining flexible living in Singapore and marks its change towards the upcoming stage of development for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell will begin at $180 per night.
The site was granted to Bethesda Medical, that sent a per month rental proposal of $103,000, the third-highest quote rate after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).
Residents of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy endless and free access to the property’s health and well-being services, such as the performance fitness center, cold plunge, infrared saunas, jacuzzis and foot bathrooms.
Kada at Maxwell will offer a variety of rooms, involving en suite studios and 2- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a completely equipped kitchen space. Visitors can book rooms on a nightly or every week basis, with a 12-month choice even readily available.

In August, Habyt Asia Pacific chief executive officer Jonathan Wong signalled that the business was trying to add even more short-term living choices to its local listing. The first properties under the Habyt Flex concept are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both started in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept involve Habyt Cantonment and Owen Property by Habyt.
“By mixing modern-day conveniences with the timeless beauty of a heritage building, we’re offering guests a special lifestyle journey that goes beyond traditional accommodation,” includes Wong.
SLA pointed out Bethesda’s strong focus on community building and connecting people with businesses as what gave its strategy the succeeding edge. The first level is going to feature 10 F&B offerings, whilst the 2nd floor will house a gym by Limitless, a wellness centre in partnership with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working area. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell gets on the 3rd floor.
